Melanie Jones

Melanie Jones is a PhD student pursuing a dual degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources and the Environment and Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management. She received a MESc from Yale School of the Environment and a B.A.  in Environmental Studies from University of Arizona with minors in Conservation Biology and GIS. Melanie’s master’s thesis examined perspectives on ecotourism in post-crisis Cuba and Puerto Rico. She is dedicating her PhD research to further investigating ecotourism in socio-ecological systems on islands in the Caribbean and South America. Outside of academia, Melanie has worked in data management for the National Park Service and as the Sustainability Manager for Zion National Park Lodge.
